Trust your gut, not economic data

Business owners should stop listening to the news and start listening to their gut, writes Carol Tice. "Trust it to give you the one-person economic viewpoint that matters most," she writes. Much of the economic data are conflicting, she notes, and don't matter much unless your business is national. "The feeling you get in your gut about your local business climate ... is probably as accurate and helpful for your business planning as any survey you'll find," writes Tice.
