Should colleges use social media to interact with students?

Nearly all colleges and universities report having a presence on Facebook and Twitter, but some say schools are not using the social media tools to interact with the student population. Some students at Syracuse University report receiving timely responses from school officials to questions or concerns posted on Twitter. However, some other schools are using Twitter handles primarily to link back to the university home page.
