U.S. housing starts rose 15% in September

Construction of houses in the U.S. climbed 15% in September to an annualized 658,000 houses, according to the Department of Commerce. The increase was credited to demand for multifamily buildings. "Even with modest job growth, we're seeing increasing household formation, and that's really boosting demand for apartments," said Ryan Sweet, a senior economist at Moody's Analytics.
