When women vote in November, will economic or social issues drive their vote? asks David Wessel. Statistics indicate that the recession was not as tough on women but that the recovery has been harder, with unemployment for women rising from 6.5% in January 2009 to 7.0% in September of this year. Still, women remain more optimistic about the economy and tend to favor President Barack Obama.
