New UN focus on cloning expected

The United Nations is due to vote whether to approve a ban on human cloning proposed by Costa Rica and supported by the Bush administration. Others in the U.N. are being lobbied to reject the measure and opt instead to ban only reproductive cloning and make therapeutic cloning available to researchers in their quest for cures for genetic diseases, such as multiple sclerosis.
