Study: Dementia risk higher in elderly people with diabetes

A Swedish study concluded the risk of developing dementia is higher among elderly people with diabetes. The risk is particularly high for a condition known as vascular dementia, in which different areas of the brain are damaged by a loss of blood, causing a progressive deterioration of intellectual powers.
