Wal-Mart adopts environmentally friendly packaging

Wal-Mart Stores will switch to corn-based plastic packaging, initially for its clamshell containers designed for fruits and herbs, in a move that will save 800,000 gallons of gasoline and reduce emissions, the retailer says. Starbucks Corp. also intends to introduce environmentally friendly packaging for select products.
