Google expands search lead as it doubles profits

Google continues to dominate the search category, nearly doubling its profits in the third quarter to $733 million, a 92% hike over its $381 million net a year ago. The numbers reflect a widening gap between Google and its closest search rival, Yahoo!, whose sales for search and display ads have slowed.
