Parents delay start of kindergarten to give kids an edge

Many New York private-school and suburban public-school parents are deliberately keeping their children, especially those with late-in-the-year birthdays, from starting preschool or kindergarten with their peers to give them an academic advantage, even though research is mixed as to whether the extra year helps.
