Report: FDA may lift hold on Geron's stem cell trial by early 2009

The FDA may lift its hold on Geron's study involving the use of embryonic stem cells in treating spinal cord damage by early 2009, according to a report from The Scientist. The agency placed the trial on hold in May, saying it needed to work out how to regulate therapies based on stem cells.
