Self-governance of schools a top priority

Recent changes in leadership have UK officials pressing for schools to have more control over their own operations and pushing for continued autonomy of academy programmes. Jim Knight, a schools minister who recently began overseeing the academies, said his goal is for all secondary schools to be self-governing and for students to have more learning options, including faith-based schools and academies, which will continue to control the majority of their own curriculum.
