The ad agency world signaled support for the proposed online search deal between Yahoo! and Microsoft in a letter signed by 4A's President & CEO Nancy Hill and the top executives of four leading advertising holding companies -- WPP, Omnicom Group, Publicis Groupe and Interpublic Group. The letter urges a quick antitrust review by the U.S. Department of Justice, and adds: "We believe that Yahoo! and Microsoft's proposal to combine their technologies and search platforms is good for advertisers, marketing-services agencies, Web-site publishers and consumers."
