AMR CEO Arpey focuses on factors within his control

American Airlines CEO Gerard Arpey is facing a number of challenges. Regulators have yet to approve the carrier's antitrust immunity bid to form an alliance with trans-Atlantic partners, despite having approved the same request from American's rivals. American Airlines pilots are a source of constant issues, despite being among the highest paid in the industry. But Arpey takes the developments in stride, reminding senior management, "we're not victims."
