Asian borrowers rush to tap international bond markets

Increased investor demand has prompted many borrowers across Asia, particularly those in South Korea, to go to the international bond markets for funding. Investors are becoming more optimistic about the future, the likely problems and how to sidestep them. The region could see record bond issuance this year as yields have declined and many borrowers, including banks, corporations and state-owned entities, are interested in locking in long-term funding.
