Car seats on counter tops, beds dangerous for children

Pediatric researchers said at an AAP meeting that more than 43,000 U.S. children were injured over five years because parents or caregivers placed car seats on beds, kitchen counters and other places outside the car. Most of the children sustained head injuries, but some also had broken arms and legs after falling out of car seats placed on elevated surfaces.
