Effective HIV/AIDS vaccine elusive but hopes high

Further analysis of results from a recent Thai HIV/AIDS vaccine trial confirms the treatment is only marginally effective and the limited beneficial effects might decrease over time. Scientists remain energized by the results in the hopes blood samples from the trials will help identify the kind of immune responses needed to protect against HIV/AIDS.
