Subcommittee approves bills to increase watch over plant security

The House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Energy and Environment last week passed two bills that could give the government more power over security at water and wastewater facilities. The Drinking Water System Security Act and the Chemical Facility Anti-Terrorism Act still need approval from the full Energy and Commerce Committee before advancing to the House floor.
