Thieves target security checkpoints

Airport security checkpoints aren't as secure as you might think: opportunistic thieves are stealing wallets, laptops and jewelry from under the noses of security officers. The TSA says 16 checkpoint thefts were reported at Dallas/Fort Worth airport in the first nine months of this year; many weren't spotted until officials reviewed security tapes. The agency recommends that passengers conceal valuables in a bag before putting them into checkpoint security bins.
