Housing starts rose 0.3% in September

For the third consecutive month, housing starts inched up in September, an indication that the housing market may be stabilizing. New construction on housing units was up 0.3% to 610,000 annualized units on a seasonally adjusted basis. Some economists say that the housing sector is beginning to stabilize after the withdrawal of economic-stimulus measures.
