New Orleans, Charleston ports see container traffic jump

A New Orleans terminal and a Charleston, S.C., port have reported increases in container traffic. The Napoleon Avenue Container Terminal in New Orleans logged its highest-ever monthly traffic in September, and officials said they expect October to beat those levels. Meanwhile, container volume at the Port of Charleston for the quarter that ended Sept. 30 increased 18% compared with the prior year.
