Data from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality showed that U.S. death rates from stroke and pneumonia dropped by 26% and 45% respectively from 2000 to 2007. The report also found the death rate for heart attacks fell 36% and the death rate for congestive heart failure was down 49% in the same period.
