U.S. Army creates veterinary medical unit at Fort Carson

A new veterinary medical unit has been established by the U.S. Army in Fort Carson, Colo., to treat military dogs injured during deployments. The 438th Medical Detachment also will provide care for any civilian pet or livestock hurt by military activity. The veterinary unit is one of eight that the Army can deploy.
