Yahoo! gains in display, but overall results are mixed

Yahoo! cashed in on the strengthening display ad market, posting a 17% rise in display ad sales in the third quarter. However, the increase was lower than the 19% gain the company recorded in the second quarter. Total revenues decreased from $1.13 billion to $1.12 billion, while search ads fell 7%, the company reported.
