Improved health IT use can help reduce racial and ethnic disparities in patient care, according to an article in the Joint Commission Journal on Quality and Patient Safety. The article advises health groups to tailor health IT programs to the needs of racial or ethnic minorities and create focused clinical decision support systems in areas with substantial care disparities, among other measures.
