Down syndrome test raises concerns

A new prenatal test to screen for Down syndrome was released Monday, amid some concerns among those affected by the disorder. The blood test could be used in place of the more-invasive amniocentesis test, which includes a higher risk of miscarriage. However, some advocates fear the test will lead to fewer children with the disorder along with reduced supports and services.
