Fees will contribute estimated $32.5B to 2011 global airline revenue

Airlines worldwide will earn $32.5 billion from ancillary fees this year, say Amadeus IT Group and partner Idea Works in the Amadeus Worldwide Estimate of Ancillary Revenue for 2011. The rise represents a 44% increase over ancillary revenue reported last year, the report says. The majority of the revenue will go to U.S. airlines, which will earn $12.5 billion from fees this year, compared with $6.7 billion in 2010.
