Final ACOs rule nearly halves required quality measures

The HHS on Thursday released the final regulations on accountable care organizations that will aid health care providers in delivering quality patient care and reducing costs. The rule lowered the number of quality measures for determining ACOs' performance bonuses from 65 to 33 and eliminated the requirement that 50% of participating physicians must demonstrate meaningful use of EHRs.
