NYC schools get creative to fit in more student exercise

New York City students do not get enough exercise from physical-education classes, which sometimes are held only once per week, so schools are getting creative to find ways to add exercise time. Teachers and administrators set up running clubs and before- or after-school fitness clubs, take classroom breaks so students can stretch or exercise at their desks, and one used grant money to turn a storage closet into an exercise room.
