Are salads to blame for McDonald's softer sales growth?

Efforts by McDonald's to make the menu healthier by adding oatmeal, salads and fruits and vegetables as an alternative to French fries aren't appeasing critics or resonating with customers, analysts say. Rivals Wendy's and Taco Bell have scored recent wins with new indulgent menu items, while McDonald's last blockbuster product introduction was the McGriddle pancake sandwich launched in 2003.
