Consumers are more likely to "showroom" via mobile for electronics

A quarter of consumers say they've taken advantage of mobile-commerce applications on their smartphones as they've shopped in stores, according to a survey by Parks Associates. And consumer electronics is a leading category for such activity. "CE products are certainly more researched and less likely to be impulse buys. Working with third-party apps that show high usage, like bar code scanners, and having some price-matching tool or way to reward consumers in the store would be very valuable," said Parks' Jennifer Kent.
