Key data delayed by U.S. shutdown due this week

U.S. economic data delayed by the partial government shutdown are expected this week, with the September employment report expected to show steady gains on the jobs front while the housing market and consumer sentiment probably cooled. "The message going into the government shutdown was that things are picking up. There's so much uncertainty now," said Jim O'Sullivan, chief U.S. economist at High Frequency Economics in Valhalla, N.Y.
