The global Internet population is projected to swell from today's 934 million to 1.35 billion in 2007, and companies that want to thrive need to adjust their strategies accordingly, argues columnist Elizabeth M. Lloyd of online direct marketing firm Netblue. Firms could do well by learning from, for instance, Yahoo!, which has partnered with local firms for each of its international businesses, Lloyd writes.
