Detroit bridge goes extra yard for Super Bowl visitors

A $14 million bridge being constructed in Detroit should add some color to tourists' visit when they come to the city for Super Bowl XL in February. The 240-foot long Gateway Bridge features arches that rise 70 feet above Interstate 94 and 87 feet above Telegraph Road, which runs under the highway in the city of Taylor, Mich. It is hoped that the ovals incorporated into the design of the bridge will remind tourists of footballs.
