Group warns about issues with changing accounting rules

Members of the pan-European Corporate Reporting Users Forum, which includes investors and analysts, warned that changes to the controversial fair-value accounting rules could hurt investor confidence in corporate accounts. The group is urging the European Commission to leave the accounting standards alone. The commission is scheduled to meet Tuesday to discuss the rules and possible changes, which would be presented to the International Accounting Standards Board for consideration.
