SNM calls on CMS to expand PET coverage for all cancer types

The Society of Nuclear Medicine is urging CMS to expand PET coverage for all types of cancer after data collected by the National Oncologic PET Registry showed PET scans helped improve the survival of cancer patients. The agency's decision on the coverage expansion is expected early next year.
