Coalition improves cultural arts for people with sensory impairments

Independence Starts Here, a partnership of nonprofit organizations in Philadelphia, is helping to make cultural programming more accessible to people with visual and hearing impairments. The groups are working to help local theaters share expensive open-captioning technology and implement offerings such as pre-show sensory seminars and Braille playbills.
