Dow, DuPont urge Canada to set absolute cap on carbon emissions

Dow Chemical and DuPont joined the call for Canada to implement a cap-and-trade system that would set an absolute cap on greenhouse-gas emissions. "Having sectors with different cap types -- that is, absolute and intensity -- could create equity issues as well as fungibility issues that may impair trading efficiency" of the system, the chemical makers said in a joint statement with various groups.
