Manila's buildings at risk for earthquake damage

Up to 40% of Manila's residential and mid-rise buildings could be damaged by a 7.2-magnitude earthquake, according to the chief of the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology. Renato Solidum Jr. estimates the earthquake could occur anytime in the next 400 years. Metro Manila is located within the Valley Fault Line, formerly known as the Marikina Fault Line.
