National discount chains beef up presence in Michigan

More national retailers are planning to expand in Michigan in an effort to meet the struggling state's growing demand for lower-priced goods and services. Wal-Mart is leading the way, with plans to open 13 more stores in the state. Other stores slated to expand their presence include Dollar General, Dots, LA Fitness, Burlington Coat Factory, McDonald's and AutoZone.
