N.J. district's new special-education chief aims to engage parents

One New Jersey school district has a new special-education director who brings to the position more than 20 years of experience as an educator, coach and administrator. Christopher Kinney says he plans to enlist the help of parents in the ongoing improvement of the district's special-education programs and will create a Parent Advisory Council, made up of educators and parents, to weigh in on policies.
