The arrival of cooler weather should not put a stop to gardening activities, horticulturist Amy Jordan writes. Plants should continue to receive water until winter arrives, and trees should be fertilized after they have shed their leaves. Fallen leaves should be turned into compost because they can enrich soil, Jordan notes.
