ONC creates principal deputy role to help with expanding HIT work

The ONC has created a principal deputy position to help with the agency's increasing efforts to spur EHR meaningful use and health information exchange development. The principal deputy will report to ONC chief Dr. Farzad Mostashari and will take charge of the agency's daily operations, workforce management, decision making and obligations similar to that of a chief operating officer. In addition, ONC on Monday named Judy Murphy to be the new deputy national coordinator for programs and policy. Murphy, a CHIME member, comes from Milwaukee-based Aurora Health Care, where she served as vice president of EHR applications.
