CSX co-sponsors safety training in Ga.

CSX recently partnered with local fire departments in Georgia for a training seminar on hazardous-materials safety. Rail shipments of chemical products are generally safe, but CSX wants all to be prepared, said Shawn Reedy, CSX manager of training for public safety, health and environment and hazardous material field manager. "As far as the statistics go, probably the most commonly quoted one is we have a success rate and accident free rate of a 99.997%. But for that .003% that is out there, we want to be prepared for it," Reedy said.
