Green becoming new norm for D.C. office buildings

In 2011, about 33% of new office buildings in the U.S. were built to green standards, according to this article. However, in Washington, D.C., about 66% of the office space built since 2009 has been green. Incentives, increasing energy costs and a desire to reduce an organization's environmental footprint are some of the reasons given for this trend.
