High cocoa prices force innovations at smaller companies

Rising cocoa prices are having a significant effect on smaller, newer chocolate companies, according to Christian Zenger, founder of Kona Bar. Some companies, like MarieBelle, are changing production procedures, such as converting to bean-to-bar operations and making their own chocolate to remain competitive on pricing.
