Hot dogs go high-end

Hotdogs are getting a haute cuisine makeover in New York City, showing up in homemade buns and topped with internationally inspired ingredients such as Senegalese yassa sauce and Japanese fried cabbage. Daniel Boulud has even stepped into the hot dog game with a walk-in corner joint that serves grilled hot dogs drizzled with special sauce for $7.50 a pop.
