Panel ponders the pluses and pitfalls of making menus healthier

Some 70% of American consumers say they want to eat healthier when dining out, a trend restaurant chains are striving to cater to with better-for-you menu options, NRA's Joan McGlockton told attendees during a panel at the Produce Marketing Association's Fresh Summit. Eateries sometimes walk a fine line when efforts to make menus healthier means taking less nutritious options off the table, said Cheryl Dolven, a registered dietitian and director of health and wellness at Darden Restaurants.
