State regulators catching more compliance flaws by RIAs

State securities regulators have brought more actions against registered investment advisers since expanding their oversight last year, Bruce Kelly writes. Joseph Borg, director of the Alabama Securities Commission, said investment advisers now account for 23.9% of regulatory actions by states, while broker-dealers account for 29.2%.
