Study finds higher readmission rates for IBD patients

Data showed 19% of inflammatory bowel disease patients end up back in the hospital within a month of discharge, with 47% of readmissions linked to an IBD problem, researchers from Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital reported at the American College of Gastroenterology annual meeting. Researchers said readmission rates are higher for IBD than for other gastrointestinal diseases.
