Weight-loss, diabetes outcomes boosted by Mediterranean diet plus interval workouts

A combination of high-intensity interval training and Mediterranean diet counseling was associated with reduced waist size and blood pressure levels and improved aerobic fitness in individuals with abdominal obesity, a Canadian study indicated. Diabetes patients on the combination program also showed a mean blood glucose improvement of 23%, researchers reported at the Canadian Cardiovascular Congress.
